Justice of the peace regulation amendment 2025 154
Amends the Justice of the Peace Regulation to include the Scrap Metal Dealers and Recyclers Identification Act, allowing Justices of the Peace to impose specified penalties for offences under this Act.
What changed
- The Justice of the Peace Regulation (AR 6/99) is amended by this Order in Council.
- Section 3(1) of the Justice of the Peace Regulation is updated to include the Scrap Metal Dealers and Recyclers Identification Act.
- This amendment enables Justices of the Peace to impose specified penalties for offences under the Scrap Metal Dealers and Recyclers Identification Act, as detailed in Part 24.1 of the Schedule to the Procedures Regulation (AR 63/2017).
- The amendment comes into force 30 days after section 4 of the Public Safety and Emergency Services Statutes Amendment Act, 2025, comes into force.
